The history
The beginnings
The Forno family in the 1600.
The Fornos have a long history in Santo Stefano Belbo, documented as early as the mid-1600’s. Still today, maps of the area show the <<Cascina Forno>>, also known as Il Falchetto Estate.
Coming from a family of winegrowers and wine lovers, Pietro Forno began producing and selling the first bottles of Moscato in 1940.
At the beginning of ‘70s Pietro passes the reins of the winery to his sons Natalino and Luigi, who renovated the cellar introducing new machines for a better control of alcoholic fermentations and buying new vineyards. They continued to work with passion and innovation, always respecting the tradition and the territory.

Il Falchetto today
Today the winery is managed by the brothers Giorgio, Fabrizio and Adriano Forno.
The winery
We have six estates, three in the province of Cuneo in Santo Stefano Belbo and Castiglione Tinella and three in the province of Asti in Agliano Terme and Calosso.
We mainly grow Moscato Bianco and Barbera, our vineyards have the privilege of being respectively in the subzone of Canelli Docg and Nizza Docg.
The method
We manage the vineyards manually from pruning to harvest. We pay great attention to the quality of the grapes and to the yield of every single vine: an important balance to obtain wines with a unique personality.
We respect the environment and the health of consumers: we do not use insecticides and herbicides and we follow a sustainable production system.
The philosophy
Our goal is to produce high quality wines using innovation and research but always respecting the tradition, in order to obtain wines that are the best expression of the grapes variety and the territory.
